A service in beta
cvestia is a service in beta: it evolves, and it may be changed or interrupted at any time. A permanent shutdown is announced by email at least thirty days in advance. What it promises and what it does not is written in the terms of use, and this page gives the essentials.
The service is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind: not of availability, not of continuity, not of the accuracy of the content it generates. We take reasonable measures to keep it running and to protect your data, without guaranteeing the outcome.
A nightly backup exists, with no guarantee of restoration (article 5 of the terms of use). Always keep the original of your CV: your space lets you take your content away in a file at any time.
Site content is produced automatically from the CV that was deposited and may contain errors, omissions or approximations. It is up to each person to reread their site before publishing it or passing its address around.
Using the service is the user’s own responsibility. To the extent the law allows, the publisher cannot be held liable for damage arising from that use, in particular loss of data or an error in the generated content.
Publisher
This site is published on a non-professional basis by , reachable at the contact address at the foot of this page, under article 1-1, II of the French Act for Confidence in the Digital Economy (Act no. 2004-575 of 21 June 2004). That identity has also been given to the host.
cvestia is a personal, experimental project, published on a non-professional basis. It is free, shows no advertising, sells no data and generates no revenue.
Host
Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States. Telephone: +1 (888) 993-5273.
The whole service (pages, database, file storage, email sending) is hosted by this provider.
Sites published by users
Each portfolio is published by the person who put it online. cvestia is its host within the meaning of article 6 of the French Act for Confidence in the Digital Economy (LCEN) and of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, and does not review its content before it goes online. The technical infrastructure is provided by Cloudflare, Inc. (details above).
Published sites may contain links to third-party sites. cvestia does not control them and is not responsible for their content.
The names of companies and schools and the trade marks mentioned on published sites belong to their owners. Mentioning them implies no affiliation with cvestia and no partnership with it.
Ownership of content
Everyone remains the owner of their portfolio’s content: their words, their images and their career are theirs. cvestia does not resell it, does not assign it and does not use it for any other service.
To be able to display that content, cvestia receives a limited permission from the person, set out in article 12 of the terms of use: to host it, cache it, lay it out, render it as a PDF and pass the CV’s text to the model, once, when the site is created. That permission exists only to run the service and ends with the site.
The code, the design, the templates and the interface wording remain the property of their author.
Terms of use
Use of the service is governed by the terms of use, the acceptable use rules and the privacy policy, all reachable from the footer. The page on artificial intelligence describes, in one place, what the model does with your CV.
Reporting content
Published portfolios are produced by their authors, and cvestia hosts them without reviewing them before they go online.
To report content you believe to be unlawful, use the “Report this site” link at the foot of the page concerned, which prepares an email with its address in it, or write to the contact address giving the exact address of the page, what you believe is unlawful and why, and a way to reply to you.
Single point of contact within the meaning of articles 11 and 12 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, for users and for the authorities of the Member States alike: contact@cvestia.com. Accepted languages: French and English.
Every report is acknowledged and receives a reasoned answer. When content is removed or a site is taken offline, the person concerned is told, with the reasons for the decision, the facts it rests on, and how to contest it. A contest is examined by a person: no removal is decided by automated means. You may also contest the decision before the competent courts.
Transfers outside the European Union
The service’s providers process data in the United States and in the other countries where they operate, whichever entity the contract is signed with. The resulting transfers are covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, supplemented for some of them by a certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The detail, provider by provider, is on the Privacy page.
